Say what you will about Flash on mobile devices but don’t say that Adobe doesn’t know the importance of mobile apps. The company has just released an update to Flash Builder and Flex 4.5 which will help developers target mobile apps on the iPhone, BlackBerry OS and the PlayBook.
This follows a previous update which enabled Android apps, the latest update to Flash Builder and Flex 4.5 gives you one tool to create apps for separate markets. There are thousands (if not millions) of developers who are familiar with Adobe tools, so this is definitely a positive for app fans out there.
“The reaction from developers to the new mobile capabilities in Flash Builder 4.5 and the Flex 4.5 framework has been absolutely fantastic,” said Ed Rowe, vice president of developer tooling, Adobe, in a prepared statement. “They are amazed by how easy it is to create great mobile apps for Android devices, BlackBerry PlayBook, iPhone and iPad. Companies can now effectively reach their customers no matter what type of device they have.”
