When the iPad 2 was announced, we weren’t too surprised about the inclusion of front and rear-facing cameras for video recording and video chatting. It’s hard to say whether FaceTime has been a hit amongst iOS users, but it’s a nice option when a video call would be a better experience than a normal voice call. Now, Fring has introduced the ability to conduct group video calling.
Fring, which supports multiple chat clients and video calling, is the first to enable this feature for the Apple tablet. The application will support up to four people at the same time, so I’m curious how smooth the experience actually is.
Here are a few details from Fring:
- Its FREE
- It’s cross platform: Video chat to any Smartphone platform including iPhone, iPad, iPodTouch, Android, Nokia…
- It works everywhere, on any connectivity (WiFi, 3G & 4G…)
Free and cross-platform? What else could you possibly want in a chat client of any kind? Well, perhaps some stability and reliability, but that’s a given. See the video demo below and let us know what you think!
