The Sprint Nexus S 4G is a good way to get a pure Google experience but if you’re like a lot of people, you may have had trouble with the whole “4G” thing. Well, Sprint has heard your complaints and a software update will be rolling out July 25 to fix some data speed issues.
The Sprint Nexus S 4G update will start to roll out on Monday and everyone should get it within three weeks. If you’re not in that first batch of users, don’t fret my pet, as some nice individual will likely throw it online for you to enjoy with a little searching.
The company said that the 4G connectivity issue is only impacting a “small number of customers,” but if you’re one of them, it really hurts your experience on the phone. I know the Sprint Nexus S 4G I have gets horrendous data speeds and because it has to struggle so much to maintain a signal, it has awful battery life. It got so bad that I completely turned off 4G.
“Nexus S 4G continues to be a highly sought after smartphone and performs very well for our customers. We are excited to make additional enhancements that will provide an even better user experience” said Fared Adib, vice president – Product Development, Sprint, in a prepared statement. “We’re committed to listening to our customers’ feedback and working with our partners to provide the best possible customer experience.”
Along with the improved data speeds, the update will also improve WiFi connectivity, boost the speakerphone audio quality and improve support for the deaf and hard of hearing. Any of you having these issues with your Sprint phone? Let us know in the comments.
