WSJ: 4G iPad will land on Verizon and AT&T

It’s almost a given that the Wall Street Journal will come out with a clutch rumor from “people within the know” when an Apple product is close to announcement. The newspaper didn’t disappoint us when it leaked some early information on the iPad 3 on Monday night. The Journal confirmed Apple would introduce its iPad in the first week of March and that it would be the first Apple mobile device to sport 4G LTE connectivity.

Details on other hardware changes were sparse. There was no mention of a retina display or improved form factor. The only thing the WSJ would comment on was the 4G LTE, which will be available in iPads for Verizon Wireless and AT&T. It’s not known whether the tablet device will land on T-Mobile or Sprint. Neither the carriers nor Apple would comment on this report.
