Well that was a long wait for every Evernote fan, myself included. The popular note-taking service is finally launching Evernote Hello for Android, allowing us to keep up with our encounters.
Like the iPhone app — which BTW was launched six months ago — the Android version is also designed to “mimic the way the human brain works,” tying names and faces to time, location and context.
You can add new people either by entering their information yourself, pull information from an address book, or pass your phone to the person you’re meeting and have them enter their contact info. The process is very quick and it won’t take longer than a minute.
Once you a new contact is added, Evernote Hello will create an encounter, which is the context of the meeting. Encounters include a map and street view (where available) of the location, links to profile of other people that you met around the same time, notes about the individual, additional snapshots, and any related notes that you have in your Evernote account.
And that’s about all you should know to get started. Additionally, you may want to connect your LinkedIn account, making data input that much easier…
Download the app now and give it a try. Once you get used to it, you’ll start annoying all the people you meet. It can be a pain, but hey – it’s a pain for them, not for you. 😉
Now I want to know something else – when will Evernote Food be launched on Android?
