To coincide with today’s release of DreamWorks’ Madagascar 3: Europe’s Most Wanted in theaters, Amazon is offering the storybook app for free as part of its Free App of the Day promotion.
It follows the humorous story of Alex, Marty, Gloria and Melman, the four main characters always off on various adventures together. They are trying to get back to New York City, which they called home for so long living in the Central Park Zoo, but they wind up lost in Europe with a traveling circus.
The app has audio from the characters’ voices and real imagery straight from the movie. You can choose the narration option that works best: read to myself, read to me, or automatic.
It’s normally $3.99 in the Amazon Appstore, so today’s 100 percent savings is a good deal that kids and families should take advantage of. The Madagascar 3 storybook doesn’t have as many interactive features as the A Charlie Brown Christmas app that was popularized on iOS and Android around Christmas time last year, but again, you can hardly ever go wrong with the price tag of “free.” Plus, isn’t the greatest gift of all a child’s laughter?
Amazon also reminds you on the Madagascar app page that certain free apps in the Appstore qualify customers for a $1 credit for spending in the Amazon MP3 Store. Madagascar doesn’t qualify, but it’s still a nice perk to buying apps through Amazon.
Take advantage of the Madagascar 3 Movie Storybook, Amazon’s Free App of the Day, by downloading it right here from the Appstore.
