NIKE is finally bringing its popular Nike+ Running app to the Android community. The application that has been out for iOS for quite some time, allows runners to track, share and compare their runs from anywhere, anytime. By connecting to nikeplus.com — which BTW has been reengineered to be smarter, more social and more motivational — it makes sure your data is always accessible from multiple devices and from the web.
Featuring an “optimized for Android” UI, Nike+ Running sports a number of features to enhance the running experience. For instance, the in-run navigation is seamless so you can easily check key run stats, see in-progress GPS maps, change songs or get audio feedback without missing a stride.
The key focus of the app is motivating runners. To make this a reality, there’s the so called “Next Moves” feature on the home screen that guides runners through different challenges — i.e. to run their fastest 5k or go their farthest distance. Additionally, the dynamic goal progress bar helps runners stay motivated and on track with goals they’ve set up through their nikeplus.com profile.
Finally, thanks to the built-in sharing component, your friends and/or followers on Facebook and Twitter can see what you’re up to. Pretty neat. 😉
