Well, look what we have here. Google has moved one step closer to pushing its Nexus 7 tablet beyond the Google Play store. Today Staples has announced its attentions to carry the seven inch wonder in its retail chains across the country. Starting right now, folks can pre-order the Jelly Bean slate on Staples’ website.
As I went over to the site, I noticed that Staples is only offering the 16GB model with this disclosure:
Pre-order your Nexus 7 by July 10th, 2012 to reserve one of these limited quantity tablets. Product will ship between July 12th and July 17th. Expected delivery: 1 – 3 business days, arriving no earlier than July 13th 2012. Your credit card will be charged at shipment.
So the great news is if you order today, you’ll be able to get your hands on the Nexus 7 no earlier than this Friday (July 13). The site also mentions that buyers will get the $25 credit for the Play Store and a free copy of Transformers: Dark of the Moon. I guess the bad news is no one knows how many Nexus 7’s Staples has in stock, so if I were you I’d order one in a hurry.
