Micromax, an Indian based manufacturer of mobile phones, just debuted two budget-friendly devices dubbed with the brand name Superfone. The first handset called the Superfone Canvas A100, is a crossbreed between a phone and tablet, as it rocks a 5-inch LCD display with a meager 854 x 480 resolution. Moreover, the phablet carries a 5-megapixel rear shooter, a VGA front camera, a dual-core 1GHz processor, 4GB of internal memory, dual-SIM capabilities and a microSD slot.
The India phone company also released the second Superfone, which could be looked at as the little brother to the A100. With the Pixel A90, users will get almost the same look and feel as the its larger brethren, but with normal sized features. The A90 sports a 4.3-inch, 800 x 480 Super AMOLED screen and brings a more than respectable 8-megapixel rear camera. Both devices come with Ice Cream Sandwich (Android 4.0) along with its own Siri-like voice recognition software called AISHA.
Micromax’s Superfone’s are priced cheap. The A100 is the cheapest of the two, as it will command a price of 9,999 rupees ($180) off-contract, while the A90’s slightly sleeker frame carries a 12,990-rupees ($234) price tag. Of course, with these devices being released overseas, we shouldn’t expect to see these two hit U.S. shores anytime soon.
