Orange's Libon brings free HD calls to iOS device users, coming to Android next year

Orange is well known to offer its own branded apps and services. Their latest gig is called Libon and it’s a VoIP app/service that features HD calls. Viber and Skype (to an extent) can also do this, but the carrier thinks its brand is powerful enough to entice a critical mass of users to try out Libon.

Feature wise, the application supports free text messaging between Libon users, visual voicemail with greetings customization and transcription, text-to-speech functionality, email notification of missed voicemails received and more. Free version limits greetings customization to 3 different contacts or groups of contacts, while premium option — available through in-app purchasing — adds unlimited customized greetings, full-length transcription of all voicemail messages, unlimited storage and email copies of all voicemails. Moreover, there’s a full hour of international call talk-time per month to landline or mobile numbers in 31 countries. Sounds interesting though I can’t really imagine trying another VoIP client as Skype “does the job” for me. What about you? Are you willing to try out Libon?
