U.S. Cellular will be carrying a new ZTE smartphone, the ZTE Director. The budget handset will be running Android 4.0 Ice Cream Sandwich and includes a 1 GHz Qualcomm processor and 512MB of RAM, and 4GB of storage which is expandable via a microSD card. The device also sports a 3 MP camera, a 1500mAh battery and a 3.5-inch HVGA screen. The device is available for only 1 cent with a new two-year contract, or $99.99 sans contract.
The device also has Bluetooth 3.0 and some pre-loaded apps, such as Slacker Radio, Amazon MP3 and the Zappos retail store. The ZTE Director is now available through U.S. Cellular’s website. If you’re looking for an entry-level smartphone at an affordable price, this could be the smartphone for you.
