Popular iOS email client Mailbox will soon get an iPad version, followed by Android and desktop apps.

While the version for Apple’s tablet is reportedly coming soon — though no ETA was given — Android and desktop clients are still “on the agenda.” And when you think about it, it’s much easier to optimize the UI for iPad’s big screen than develop a whole new application for other platform.

Those not owning an iPhone should know that Mailbox is so popular due to its email-organizing capabilities, alerting users about unread messages that need their attention. The focus on individual emails works for some, while other users may prefer en-masse actions on groups of emails.

In any case, those using the application are so addicted to it that they can’t imagine using any other email client afterwards. I’ve seen Mailbox “in action” and I’m pretty impressed, and yes – I can’t wait to see it hitting the Google Play store. 😉
