Acer unveils 24-inch, Android-powered PC with Tegra 3 chip

Acer is launching a somewhat crazy product at IFA. The newly announced Acer DA241HL is a 24-inch tablet running Android 4.2 Jelly Bean. In addition, it’s powered by last-year’s Tegra 3 chip (as opposed to the hot-new Tegra 4 processor) delivering decent though not great experience.

Perhaps more interesting is the tablet’s ability to work like an external monitor (through MHL) though we’re not sure that feature alone makes it worth 429 EUR. That will be this device’s price when it launches in Europe next month. After all, that money gets “more than decent” 24-inch monitor and you’re still left with enough cash to buy a separate Tegra 3 tablet that you can connect to (that) monitor. Not sure what Acer is thinking. I have hard time imagining anyone who would grab a device like this one. What do you think?
