Fingerprint sensors are cool but there are other ways to indentify individual users. Eye-scanning sounds more advanced and that’s apparently something Samsung is looking to integrate into its next flagship, Galaxy S5.

It is said that the Korean company will first unveil this technology during the next year’s Mobile World Congress and then show it integrated into its “smartphone of the year,” few months afterwards.

We’re not sure whether Sammy will make its own technology from the scratch, license some existing solution, or acquire a company making eye-scanning tech. It is, however, clear that eye-scanning, presuming it’s available, will become part of Samsung KNOX’s solution, making the Korean company’s business platform even more secure for use in the enterprise.

We’ll be watching this space and let you know as soon as there’s something new to add. Stay tuned in the meantime…
