Google donates 17,000 Nexus tablets to Hurricane Sandy victims

Google is doing a really nice thing for New York by donating $2.7 million worth of Nexus tablets to all business communities affected by Hurricane Sandy. The king of search will be distributing 17,000 tablets to a couple hundred places in harmed areas, including libraries, senior centers and business and community centers.

In response to Google’s kind charity, New York Governor Andrew Cuomo said “Private donations like these are critical in aiding local communities in our ongoing recovery. We thank Google for helping New York build back better than before.”

This kind gesture by Google is sort of emblematic to what transpired last year, when the company had to postpone the launch of its Nexus 10 tablet because of the Hurricane Sandy super storm.
