The personalized magazine space is about to get even more competitive with Facebook apparently looking to enter the space.
According to Re/code, the social networking giant will launch its news reader app called Paper in the coming weeks, with features that are comparable to the one Flipboard is offering.
In other words, except the app to go through your friends list and check out what they find interesting from all around the web to serve only the news you care about the most. However, unlike Flipboard and some other personalized magazine apps, Paper will likely be “stuck” to your Facebook feed and will pretty much neglect what Twitter is saying. Chances are that won’t affect the information you’re receiving as hot stories are usually shared by both Facebook and Twitter users.
Facebook’s app is internally known as Project Reader, and is headed by Chris Cox, the company’s VP of product. The report also says that the Paper will launch by the end of January, initially targeting iOS and Android users.
So are you looking forward to try out the Facebook Paper?
