Sony has released the Timeshift Burst app in the Google Play Store, allowing more users to make better photos. Up until this point, this capability was available for Xperia Z1 and Xperia Z1S users only, and now owners of the Xperia Z, Xperia ZL, Xperia ZQ and the Xperia Tablet Z can join the fun, too.

For those of you who missed it, Timeshift Burst enables capturing of 61 frames per second, making it ideal for taking so called “action shots” when a subject of the photo is on the move. After the photo has been taken, you can then pick the frame you like the most.

We can’t but applaud Sony for making this feature available to more users. However, we must add that it was Motorola which first started this trend of launching pre-installed apps to the Google Play Store, allowing more users to try them out. It is our hope that more handset makers will follow this example…
