Sony has started rolling out Android 4.4.4 KitKat updates for three of its phones – Xperia Z1, Xperia Z1 Compact and Xperia Z Ultra.
Google has only recently released this version of Android, and it contains just a security patch for an OpenSSL bug. So you shouldn’t expect any notable changes… Nevertheless, we advise you to push the button the second your Xperia informs you there’s a new software awaiting for your approval. It’s a good practice to have the latest available firmware running at your phone at all times.
As that’s usually the case, you should make sure your phone has enough juice to get your through the end of the process. Also, you’re best off being connected to a Wi-Fi hotspot to make for a that much faster download. If these two are in place, you’re all set – tap that update button and follow the on-screen instructions. Good luck. 😉
