Two different Samsung Galaxy Note Edge variants have been cleared by the FCC, and unfortunately none of these is destined to North America. Rather, the SCL24 and SC-01G are heading for Japan, where they will end up in portfolios of KDDI and NTT DoCoMo, respectively.
As you probably already know, the Galaxy Note Edge was announced alongside the “regular” Galaxy Note 4 phablet. It comes with a unique display that allows users to see notifications and access some phone functions from that special part of the screen on the side.
The version FCC engineers got to play with has all the bells and whistles you could imagine, include the fast chip, 4G LTE connectivity support, a ton of built-in storage, and so on and on.
It’s unclear whether some U.S. operator will pick up the Edge or it will rather be available in its unlocked “form,” costing a small fortune.
Meanwhile, we know it’s heading to Europe with pre-orders in the UK taking place as we speak. Anyone looking to grab one of these?
