The 2010 U.S. Open at Pebble Beach is getting started this morning. As I sit here, flicking between live coverage from Pebble Beach and soccer action from South Africa, I couldn’t help but think of the U.S. Open app for iPhone I told you about yesterday. While it’s all well and good for those of you packing an iPhone or iPod Touch, chances are many of you aren’t, and you want to know where you can get your U.S. Open fix while you’re on the go. Enter the U.S. Open 2010 Golf Championship mobile site.
If you’re on a BlackBerry, Android-powered device or any other smartphone with a half-decent web browser (ok, maybe I should leave BlackBerry out of the group then? *ouch*!) 🙂 the U.S. Open 2010 Golf Championship mobile site is there for you. Once you pop it open you’ll be able to get the latest news, scores, photos, and a heck of a lot more. All of the information comes to you as-it-happens, and if you absolutely need to keep on top of the latest from Pebble Beach, this is one mobile site you’ll want to bookmark.
If you don’t dig the mobile site very much, I guess you’re out of luck. You may want to load up another sports news and scoring app, something like ScoreMobile, (available for iPhone, BlackBerry and Android). If that doesn’t work for you, and you really want to experience the official U.S. Open app… My suggestion to you? Just pick up a discounted iPhone 3G or 3GS, download the app, and enjoy to your hearts’ content 🙂
I’m really looking forward to the Open this year, and I hope (if you’re a golf fan) you enjoy it too. Pebble Beach looks like it is in fantastic shape, the fairways are firming up, and those tiny greens are hard and fast. Even par will be a good score come the weekend… a really good score. Enjoy the tourny!
Enough talk. Check out the mobile site for yourself at m.usopen.com.
