HTC and Sprint announce the EVO 3D with dual 5MP cameras

Sprint took to the stage at CTIA and announced the EVO 3D, the next generation in its line of popular EVO handsets for Sprint. The EVO 3D takes the traditional styling of the EVO 4G and adds dual 3D-capable cameras on the back. The EVO 3D includes the following specs:

  • 1.2 GHz Qualcomm Snapdragon dual-core processor
  • 4.3-inch qHD  (960 x 540) display that supports 3D without glasses (3D feature can be switched off)
  • 4GB of internal memory
  • Dual 5 megapixel rear facing cameras
  • 3G/4G capability
  • 720P 3D recording and 1080P 2D recording which can be toggled on/off using a switch on the side of the handset
  • 1.3-megapixel front-facing camera
  • WiMAX connectivity
  • Bluetooth, Wi-Fi, GPS
  • HDMI-out and DLNA capability
  • 3D TV output via HDMI
  • mobile hotspot capability for up to 8 devices
  • Android 2.3 (Gingerbread) and the latest version of HTC’s Sense UI which includes Leap homescreen and Friend Stream social media plug-in
  • 1730mAh battery

The EVO 3D will debut on Sprint starting this summer. Additional details on this 4G Android handset will be available in the press release on the next page.
