As part of its “It Can Wait” campaign, AT&T launched a new app called AT&T DriveMode, helping curb texting while driving. Available as a free download for BlackBerry users — with other platforms to follow shortly — the application automatically sends a customizable reply to incoming texts, calls and emails, notifying the sender that the user is driving and unable to respond. Of course, you can set your own “Allow List,” which can consist of up to 5 numbers, such as roadside assistance, 911 and family members – to send and receive calls while the app is running. Moreover, one music and one navigation app can run while AT&T DriveMode is enabled.

And that’s not all – by downloading the app, you’re automatically taking AT&T’s “Txtng & Drivng… It Can Wait” pledge, joining more than 63,000 others who have made the commitment to not text while driving…

Want it? AT&T DriveMode is available from BlackBerry App World and AT&T App Center – both linked below.
