It’s been almost two weeks since Halbrick released their latest game, Jetpack Joyride, onto the iOS and I absolutely CANNOT stop playing it. It’s not because I have no other games to play, because I have a ton of games I need to be playing. There’s just something about it that makes it completely addictive and immediately satisfying, that’s why I couldn’t give it anything less than a 10 in my review. It looks like I’m not the only one who fell for the charm of Jetpack Joyride as Halfbrick has announced the game has sold over 350k copies in the first week of its launch. If the game continues its current trend of selling like red velvet hotcakes, then the one millionth copy could be sold in just a few weeks.
As a way to thank fans for supporting their latest and greatest, Halfbrick has released the game’s first update that adds quite an interesting list of improvements. Here’s what you can expect once you update Jetpack Joyride:
- Mr. Cuddles – A brand new vehicle for Barry to wreak havoc in. Skyrocket through the lab in a giant robot dragon that breathes fire!
- Fruit Jetpack – Fans of our other hit game Fruit Ninja will recognize this one instantly! You’ll be cruising through the air and sending fruit flying, with delicious juice splattering all over the lab. Messy but fun!
- Honest Phil Costume – A cameo appearance from the marketing maestro behind Jetpack Joyride and Barry Steakfries, you can roll with style as an awesome Australian dude!
The update also squashes a number of bugs regarding a couple of things like coin bankrolls and bugs related to missions and achievements.
