While Orange is selling the San Francisco II smartphone that doesn’t stop ZTE from offering its baby without the carrier’s branding. And while we don’t know when they’ll actually start accepting orders, we now know the official name of the phone – it’s ZTE Blade S. That “S” part apparently makes it superior than the original Blade, which we also knew as the first Orange San Francisco — which was sold in more than 2 million units.

We’re not sure whether ZTE will manage to repeat the success it had with the first Blade Android smartphone, but nothing stops them from trying in their effort to “become a household name” in the UK and the other parts of Europe.

Finally in case you wonder, we got that ZTE Blade S name from the Bluetooth SIG that has recently certified the device.

Again, the specs include a 3.5-inch WVGA touchscreen, HSDPA and Wi-Fi connectivity, 5-megapixel camera on the back, front-facing camera, 800MHz processor, while Android 2.3 Gingerbread is running the show.
