If you like to apply custom ROMs to your Galaxy Nexus and Nexus S, you may want to turn your attention to the newest custom recovery option from ClockworkMod. Chances are that if you are using a custom recovery already, it’s ClockworkMod. This is the same ClockworkMod recovery you’re used to but is now touch-enabled. If you’re rocking a Galaxy Nexus (GSM or CDMA) or a Nexus S (GSM only), read on to learn how to install the new recovery.
The recovery is still in beta form but it works quite well, so just keep that in mind. The normal navigation method (volume keys and power button) still work as they should, so you don’t have to use the touchscreen.
*You’ll need to have the correct drivers (ADB and Fastboot) installed to perform this*
- Download the appropriate recovery: Galaxy Nexus — Nexus S (GSM)
- Place the downloaded file in the folder your ADB and Fastboot files are (example: C:\SDK)
- Open command prompt and navigate to the folder the recovery image is found. (example: cd c:\SDK)
- Type: ADB reboot bootloader to enter Fastboot.
- For Galaxy Nexus, type: fastboot flash recovery touch-tuna.img
- For Nexus S, type: fastboot flash recovery touch-crespo.img
- After a successful flash, type: fastboot reboot
- You’re done!
