According to the official specs page of the Nokia Lumia 610, the newest member of Nokia’s Windows Phone family can create a Wi-Fi hotspot from 3G network, supporting up to 5 devices connected to the network. We like that but what we don’t like is the fact that two other (read: better) Nokia Windows Phones, Lumia 710 and Lumia 800, don’t come with the same functionality. Now we’re not sure whether “mobile hotspot” is a typo on Nokia’s website or the real deal. Presuming the capability is actually on board, existing Lumia owners should must rebel. What gives? You have a better device and you can’t share your 3G network with others whereas schmucks who paid less for their phone have that capability? You know it’s not fair and we’re hoping the Finns will do something about it, releasing a new firmware update to address the issue. Needless to say, we’ll keep you posted on how this goes. Stay tuned in the meantime, k?
