Vonage announced two major milestones. First their mobile app surpassed 1 million downloads, offering users ability to make free calls to other Vonage users and/or cheap calls to landlines and mobile phones. According to the official press release, those using Vonage Mobile will end up paying on average 70% less than major mobile carriers and 30% less than Skype.

The other news is that Vonage surpassed half a million customers who have signed up for the Vonage Extensions product. The mentioned offering broadens the benefits of the company’s service beyond the walls of the home to any other phone, including mobile, for no additional cost…

I’m not a Vonage user but I enjoy seeing (relatively) new entrants in any market as it consequently makes the service cheaper to the end users, which is something all of us appreciate.

The Vonage Mobile app is available for iPhone and Android users as a free download. Both versions are linked below.
