IKEA Canada is one of three pilot countries to bring store information right to their customers’ finger tips from their iPhone and Android smartphones. The new IKEA Mobile Shopping Application allows customers to browse IKEA’s product range, check product information and stock availability. Moreover, it provides customers with the ability to create shopping lists that include the product’s location for pick up in the store; and to browse through store maps, making navigating through IKEA locations easier.

Available in both French and English, IKEA’s app works alongside IKEA’s new mobile website and catalogue app to provide a “seamless ‘IKEA on the Go’ experience.”

Commenting on the news, President of IKEA Canada Kerri Molinaro said: “We recognize that smartphones are changing consumer behavior and our customers are increasingly relying on their mobile phones to get the information they need. Ten per cent of all traffic to the IKEA.com websites in March 2012 was from a mobile, which translates into an annual increase of 250%.”
