Google wrapped up the hardware part of its I/O keynote presentation by unveiling the Nexus Q, a social streaming media device. The device serves as a conduit between your Android tablet or phone and  your home entertainment center. You can browse YouTube or the Google Play store on your Android device and stream movies, TV shows and music instantly to the Nexus Q, which will then send the stream to your HDTV or audio receiver. Anyone in the room with an Android device can connect to the Q and share their media for everyone else to see.

Internally, the Nexus Q is powered by an OMAP4460 dual-core ARM Cortex-A9 CPU and SGX540 graphics core, 1GB RAM, 16GB NAND flash memory, WiFi 802.11 b/g/n, Bluetooth and NFC. All this will run on Android 4.0 Ice Cream Sandwich.

The Nexus Q costs $299 and will ship in the upcoming weeks.
