While T-Mobile has remained rather tight-lipped about the inevitable release of the Samsung Galaxy Note, it hasn’t stopped some accessories from finding their way into some Magenta stores already. We certainly have our doubts that the handset will be released on the previously rumored July 11th, but it can’t be too long now before we get a taste of the tablet/phone hybrid for the carrier.
One thing you can definitely expect the Galaxy Note to ship with is Android 4.0 Ice Cream Sandwich, which is certainly a good thing since we already got our geeky hands on Jelly Bean not long ago. We’d also expect the Note to ship with the Premium Suite that’s set to launch on the AT&T Galaxy Note tomorrow. And with the exception of 42 Mbps HSPA+, this should be the same handset we’ve handled before. This is a good thing, as we like the monster of a phone the way it is.
Don’t be surprised if T-Mobile doesn’t push the Note too hard when it launches, as we’re sure the carrier doesn’t want the handset to steal any thunder from the recently released Samsung Galaxy S III, which will likely be the flagship handset for some time.
With Galaxy Note cases already making their way into T-Mobile stores, there’s a good chance we could see the device launch by the end of the month or early next month, so that August 8th date is looking pretty solid. That said, with such an attractive handset like the Galaxy S III already available, it may be a tough decision. If T-Mobile prices the Note at $200, it stands to move quite a few units.
So what do you think about the Note? Would you consider purchasing the phablet over the likes of the Galaxy S III?
