Sad news for folks who grabbed the Sony Tablet P with the Japanese company deciding not to release Jelly Bean update for the dual-screen device. According to Sony, we have the lack of developer interest and poor sales to blame for this, but I would add them to that “blame list” as well.
Sure enough, the Tablet P is a niche product with an unusual form factor. The Tablet S, on the other hand, is a different beast and it will get its serving of Jelly Bean at some point in the future.
We can’t but notice that Sony is having some serious problems with software updates. It’s not like they’re alone in this (LG is also a “good” example), but people expect much more from Sony… Or at least that used to be the case. We’ll see whether their new portfolio of smartphones can take them back to the top…
