Samsung Epic 4G Touch gets some Jelly Bean lovin’

If you’re still holding onto the Samsung Galaxy S II Epic 4G Touch, you have some else to look forward to, other than trying to say the phone’s name three times fast. Get ready to breathe a little more life into the that aging handset, as the Android 4.1 Jelly Bean update is live and waiting for you now!

Don’t expect the Jelly Bean goodness to come to you all by itself this time via an OTA update. According to Sprint, the update can only be updated directly from a computer due to the size of the update. The update process will be done through Samsung Kies, so be sure to install it.

While Android 4.1 Jelly Bean is nearing a year old at this point, it’s still nice to see a handset get such treatment. Epic 4G Touch users will get some great new features that debuted in Jelly Bean, like Google Now, expandable notifications, Project Butter, Android Beam enhancements, and more. Needless to say, if this is the last Android version update the Epic 4G Touch receives, it will be easier to live with than the Android 2.3 Gingerbread it debuted on.

If you’re still rocking the Epic 4G Touch, be sure to get your Jelly Bean on now!
