The Honor 600 Elite 5G has been listed on Honor’s LATAM website, making it the fourth phone in the Honor 600 family alongside the standard Honor 600, the Honor 600 Pro, and the Honor 600 Elite. All three predecessors launched earlier this year, and now this one rounds out the lineup with a clear focus: battery life and durability above everything else.
Let’s talk about that battery first, because 8,100mAh is not a small number. Most flagship phones are still hovering around 5,000mAh to 6,000mAh. Honor is going in a completely different direction here, targeting users who are genuinely tired of babysitting their charge levels throughout the day. Power users, outdoor types, people who travel a lot — this phone has them in mind.
The durability story is equally serious. The Honor 600 Elite 5G carries IP68, IP69, and IP69K ratings, which means it’s protected against dust and water under controlled lab conditions. Honor specifically claims it can handle water temperatures up to 85 degrees Celsius and has been put through 10,000 water exposure cycles in testing. On top of that, it has SGS-certified drop and crush resistance, and Honor says it can survive drops from up to 2.5 metres in their lab environment. That’s not quite the same as real-world concrete, but it’s still a strong showing for a phone in this segment.
On the camera side, you get a 108-megapixel primary rear camera with an f/1.75 aperture and an auxiliary lens. The front camera is 5 megapixels, which is modest, but selfie performance always comes down to software processing as much as raw specs. Speaking of software, Honor’s AI 2.0 is built in and can convert still images into videos. There’s also a dedicated AI Button on the phone that gives you quick access to AI Summary, AI Writing, Circle to Search, and AI Memory. Whether you’ll actually use all of those features regularly is a different question, but at least the hardware shortcut makes them easy to reach without digging through menus.
So where does this fit in the bigger picture? Mid-range phones have gotten incredibly competitive over the past couple of years, and battery capacity has become one of the clearest ways brands can stand out without necessarily matching flagship chip performance. Honor is clearly leaning into that. The 600 Elite 5G isn’t trying to compete with a Galaxy S or an iPhone on raw processing power. It’s going after a specific type of buyer who wants longevity, toughness, and good-enough performance for daily use.
