N95 Battery Life: Get over it!

  It makes sense to say that the N95 will last through the day with normal, judicious usage. But it’s much nicer when your gadgets are reliable tools, like a hammer you pull out of the box, that you know will do what you expect it to do without fuss.

  It greatly takes away from the satisfaction when you have to stop and think, “should I check email right now? I might want to save some juice for some satnav later…”

  That’s the difference between a tool you can depend on, and a gadget that you can play with.

  On the other hand, some countries in asia have mobile device chargers at metro and subway stations with which you can trade some coins for gadget juice! That + fast charging would totally rock.

  I hear you on the nightly charge and have been in that habit for years. I actually don’t understand the need to have a device that can sit uncharged for days on end. I have chargers in my home, office and car and typically plug things in when one is nearby.

  My issue though is when the battery does not make it through a day of use. My N80 can’t handle data tethering for an extended period (plus photos, etc…) and when I’ve used it that way when out and about will be dead by the afternoon. I know my usage is not “average” but a day is not a lot to ask and should be the min. The N95 apparently can out do the N95, but I’ll have to wait until I have one to test it out. I hope it makes it as I’m quite excited by the device’s potential.

  I charge my phone everynight too. I don’t mind it being fast or slow, as I’d be sleeping anyways… The thing is, having to save battery is annoying. My N73 can live without charging for 2 days, so I’m totally fine with it. Regardless, when I’m going sleepover or something, it really annoys me that I can’t just use my phone as much as I want. We don’t really need 15 days battery life, but I think we need a decent battery life like 3-4 days.

  i agree the only reason y the battery runs off fast because it has a complete device that you can use, me? id rather use a phone that has everything and be patient in charging the battry

  After few days with N95 I can say that like Jonathan with his N80, I usually have to charge my N95 during the day as well. That’s all you can eat data for you..:). Video is a big strain to the battery as well..and I like N95′s gorgeous video!

  Hi, I collected some facts from all over the internet to give an overview of all the battery lifetime of the N95. May be you can add something about fring?

  Had new N95 for a week now. Battery life very disappointing. I do not have a problem if it only lasts one day when fully utilized; however, mine only lasts between 8 – 10 hours without any use at all. This surely is very disappointing. Looking at replacing it with the N73.

  My Nokia N95 lasts 6 hours from unplugging it from overnight charging.

  Had it checked at Nokia Service centre and phone and battery checked out fine.

  Got a spare battery and dual desktop charger – but that only gives me 12 hours with both batteries.

  Just used setting changes and will see how that goes……..

  Really poor battery life – Nokia pull your fingers out and sort this out as this is a REALLY disspointing feature on such a nice phone.

  i thought id get a spare battery from ebay but i found a battery AND desktop charger for less than a fiver ! cant really complain at that can u ? i havent even got the phone yet but i wants it

  Hmm, will give te steps a go, however a couple more days just to send the damn thing back if it continues. As I understand it in the UK you get 7 days cool off period for any credit agreement. Also in my opinion if I see what you ppl are experienceing I will send it back as a faulty unit and close the account.

  I just bought a N95 handset…. It was working properly until the battery life died after one day… So i decided to charge as soon as i noticed it. I left it to charge but i noticed a blank grey screen with the NOKIA logo and did not notice any bar which indicates that it is charging and i cant even turn it on.. If anyone knows the reason or problem pls email me thanks!!(regulex93@hotmail.com)

  I saw this thing called an igo it uses aa batteries and is portable anywhere. I also have a terrible battery time on my N95 lasts 2 days at best when i first got it it lasted 3-4 days

  i bought i thing called uniross which takes two aa batteries each battery is roughly 2500mah the n95′s battery is 1200mah so one battery could charge it. it has solved my n95 battery trouble great when watching movies costs 13.00 at K-mart.
