Developer Jon Colverston over at JJC Games sent me a note about his Air Hockey game for Android a few days back. After finally taking a look at it (sorry for the delay Jon!) the game looks like your standard Air Hockey app, with the one big difference… it’s for Android of course!
Air Hockey is the first of its kind on Android, and so far in the Android Market it is doing very well indeed. In fact, earlier in the week Air Hockey was one of the most popular games available in the Market.

Touchscreen-Controlled Game Is One Of The First Paid Applications On Improved Market
JJCgames today announces the launch of ‘Air Hockey’ for phones using Google’s Android™ platform, including the T-Mobile G1 and the HTC Dream.
The game uses accurate physics and realistic sounds to recreate the classic tabletop arcade game, and introduces a fun ‘leveling-up’ feature so that players can track their improvement against a computer opponent that gets progressively harder, and compare their level with their friends.
The launch coincides with Google’s unveiling today of the ability for developers to post applications and games that Android phone users can buy directly on their handset. Previously, only free applications were available. Air Hockey can be downloaded now for $0.99 (price may vary slightly because of currency changes). A link to the Market and images and video from the game can be found at JJCgames.com
