With the Kentucky Derby coming up on us fast this Saturday, I spent a few moments the other day poking around the official website. I also noticed that the folks at Churchill Downs together with developer Jeremy Borseth have taken the time to put together a nifty little app to keep you up-to-date on the latest Derby news. While the app is nothing special, it does keep you in the loop with the latest goings on at and around the track. Pop it open, and immediately you’ll be greeted with news headlines. Tap one of interest and you’ll be taken directly to a new Safari window to read the story. Kind of a shame that the story does now load within the app… But still, if you’re into horse racing and are contemplating placing a few bets this weekend, this one is certainly worth a look.

You can download Derby News for Free via the App Store (iTunes Link).
