Today Samsung and Cricket announced the Samsung Vitality an Android smartphone which runs the latest OS, Gingerebread 2.3.4. The Vitality features an 800MHz CPU, 3.5-inch 320 × 480 display, and 3.2 MP camera. The Vitality’s most appealing feature is being the first Android phone on Cricket’s network to launch with Muve Music. Muve is a unique streaming music service with a cost factored directly into your mobile bill.

The Vitality is a capable mid-range Android smartphone. Specs include:

  • Android 2.3.4
  • 3.5-inch display at HVGA (320×480)
  • 800MHz processor
  • 3.2MP rear camera
  • 4GB microSD card (3GB for music storage, 1GB for user downloads)
  • 3G/Wi-Fi data
  • Stereo Bluetooth
  • 1600mAh battery
  • 3.5mm headphone jack
  • Dimensions: 4.6×2.4x.06 inches
  • Weight: 4.16 ounces
  • Muve Music

The Samsung Vitality will be available later this month on Cricket for $200 on contract, but for you Canadians out there, it’ll be available through Mobilicity at the bargain price of $169.99. Customers can expect to receive unlimited data, voice and Muve Music to cost $65. Not bad, right? For most people who just want specific task done, this phone may grab some attention. Honestly, If Sammy and Cricket hope to push this device to users who love media oriented task, then it would have been wise to add a microSD card with more than a measly 4GB of memory. Just a thought.

In any case, visit the Cricket online store to pick up the Vitality.
