Contact UsIt’s not much of a surprise at this point but it looks like the quad-core Samsung Galaxy S III will be landing at Verizon with just a dual-core processor. While four is larger than two, I wouldn’t be too worried about this change. The news comes from a benchmark from Droid-Life and this indicates that the Verizon Galaxy S III will likely have a Qualcomm SnapDragon S4 dual-core chip instead of the Samsung quad-core Exynos chip that will ship in the international version. The main reason for this is probably … Read more
When Sprint decided to label WiMAX technology as “4G”, it wasn’t that long until the other operators followed suite and slapped the 4G moniker on their respective networks. Sascha Segan from PC Mag recently had a chance to speak to Chris Pearson, the President of 4G Americas, and he asked him just what the hell 4G actually means according to the organization who is responsible for defining the standards that make our mobile devices work in the first place. Pearson’s response: “At 4G Americas, our typical line is HSPA+ 21 … Read more
In a me-too move, RadioShack has announced that they too will be offering a $50 discount on the iPhone. Yesterday, RadioShack started selling the iPhone 4 (8GB) for $49, and the iPhone 4S for $149 (16GB), $249 (32GB), and $349 (64GB). The move comes after multiple smaller, regional retailers started selling Apple’s iPhones at these lower rates, and after Target announced they would be cutting $50 off the iPhone prices as well. The $50 price reduction ends June 30th, so you’ll want to act soon if you want to save a cool … Read more
Yet another variant of the Droid Razr handset from Motorola is now available from Verizon Wireless. Starting today, Razr fans can grab a blue-trimmed version of the popular Android smartphone from select Verizon stores. The handset features the same internals and the same Android Gingerbread OS as its silver counterpart. An update to Ice Cream Sandwich is rumored to hit the Razr and the Razr Maxx handsets leader this month, so hopefully users won’t have to suffer with Gingerbread much longer. Customers can buy the blue Razr in some Verizon … Read more
Announced back in October 2011, the Motorola Droid RAZR for Verizon Wireless has been somewhat of a mixed bag. It’s insanely thin and gorgeous, but that PenTile AMOLED display just ruins the device. There was a fatter version (8.9 mm) introduced three months later called the RAZR MAXX that came with a 3,300 mAh battery, and not for nothing, that thing was bananas in terms of battery life. We’ve also seen the RAZR come out in white and in purple, but now it’s time to give blue a try. According … Read more

The tests between the carriers are broken down into four categories: 3G download speed, 3G upload speed, 4G download speed, and 4G upload speed. The … Read more
HTC and Verizon announced the Droid Incredible 4G LTE today and we got some hands on time with the latest handset in the Droid family here at CTIA. The obvious successor to the previous Incredible models, the Incredible 4G LTE retains its molded design on the back, but with a different take. You’ll also find the familiar red ring around the camera with a single LED flash, which we’re assuming is similar to the One X’s flash that has five levels of brightness. The handset sports a 4 inch Super … Read more

If you walk into a Verizon Wireless store knowing you want a smartphone, but are unsure about which one to get, the likeliness that you’ll walk out of that store with a 4G Android phone is pretty high. After numerous reports from ordinary consumers looking to buy a phone, Verizon pushed really hard to get them to buy an Android handset instead. David Goldman of CNN Money decided to find out for himself if this was true by conversing with ten different Verizon representatives. “Here’s what I found,” he said. “Next … Read more
Can you believe that it’s already time for the Spring CTIA show? CES and Mobile World Congress have already passed and now it’s time for the mobile world to focus on CTIA, which is generally a big time for U.S. carrier announcements. This year’s conference is taking place in New Orleans, so you know it’s going to be a good time. Normally, we have a lot of leaks and anticipation leading up to CTIA but this year’s relatively quiet. The Galaxy S III introduction means there will be one less … Read more
The FCC is getting serious about providing high-speed mobile broadband connections to rural areas. The agency has begun accepting bids to bring 3G and 4G services to parts of the country that have been ignored by major carriers, and is offering as much as $300 million to assist in the development costs of these networks. To provide a picture of the types of areas that would be impacted by such a move, the FCC has released a Phase 1 eligibility map that shows locations currently in the dark, which you … Read more
