Sprint announces a trio of tri-band LTE mobile broadband devices
Sprint announced a trio of mobile broadband devices that will take advantage of three bands of 4G LTE wireless spectrum available on the Now Network. These devices will be available at some point in the summer, bringing customers improved network performance and stronger in-building coverage as LTE is deployed on each of these bands, including Sprint’s 1.9GHz and 800MHz, as well as Clearwire’s LTE network at 2.5GHz. Sprint and HTC are rolling out a small update for the carrier-specific version of the HTC One. Path announces new partnership with Sprint
Path has hit a few road bumps as it grows from unknown startup to influential social network. It hasn’t reached this latter checkpoint yet, but it made a big leap forward today with a new partnership with US wireless carrier Sprint. Staples Announces Availability of Samsung Galaxy S4
Staples today has announced details regarding the availability of the Samsung Galaxy S4 in its retail stores. The retailer will offer the Galaxy S4 on a variety of carriers, including AT&T, Sprint, Verizon and T-Mobile. Staples is offering the device for $199.99 with a two-year contract, with availability depending on the carrier. Rumor: Bluetooth Filing Shows Unknown LG Device With Snapdragon 800 Processor
Thanks to a Bluetooth filing and a User Agent Profile on Sprint’s website,we now have information that points to the release of an LG device which could be an updated Optimus G Pro, or a new handset altogether coming to the network later this year. The leak shows a handset called the LS980, which runs on Android 4.2.2 and touts a 1080p screen. The model number is in line with AT&T’s Optimus G Pro model number of E980. Sprint to vote on SoftBank offer during June 12th stockholder meeting
SoftBank is continuing its public campaign as it tries to win the favor of Sprint. After a war of words between SoftBank and Dish erupted this week, SoftBank is back on the offensive and encouraging Sprint stockholders to approve its deal. Dish network chairman blasts SoftBank in war of words over Sprint
Earlier his week, SoftBank confirmed it wont budge on its offer to acquire US wireless carrier Sprint. It said the competing offer from Dish was “incomplete and illusory” and claimed it has the better deal. Sprint gives its remaining iDEN customers 60-day notice
Sprint reminded customers today that its iDEN network is going to sunset in 60 days. The wireless carrier announced last year that it will shut down its iDEN network by June 30, 2013 and now that day is rapidly approaching. After June 30, iDEN’s voice, data and 911 emergency services will be cut off. Softbank won’t raise its offer for Sprint
Softbank is digging in its heels and won’t raise its $20.1B offer for Sprint after Dish upped the anted by offering $25.5B for the US wireless carrier. Sprint is in the enviable position of being courted by not one, but two companies for a potential merger. Sprint already agreed to a deal that would give control over the company to Japanese wireless carrier Softbank.
