It’s Verizon’s turn to announce its plans for the Galaxy S 4 and the carrier confirmed that pre-orders will start online tomorrow, April 25th. Verizon also announced via Twitter that the handset will land on May 30th in Verizon retail stores. Pricing will start at $199.99 with a 2-year contract and after a $50 mail-in rebate. Verizon was rumored to be kicking off a new installment plan that would let customers get a new device every year. The carrier announced the details of this plan in a blog post today. According to the post, customers can buy a full retail price smartphone or tablet that is priced over $349 and spread out the payments over a 12-month period. Verizon has deployed 4G LTE service in five new markets today, lighting up El Centro, CA; Fort Dodge, IA; Middlesboro/Harlan and Paducah, KY; and East Liverpool, OH. Verizon is continuing to roll out its 4G LTE service in suburban and rural areas, covering over 95% of its 3G service areas with 4G LTE. The American Civil Liberties Union (ACLU) issued a formal complaint to the Federal Trade Commission (FTC) on Wednesday. In it they contend that Mobile Carriers are creating security risks for their customers by not releasing updates in a timely manner. Since T-Mobile began its Simple Choice plans, customers of other carriers have been clamoring for similar no contract plans. Samsung officially confirmed the details on the US launch of its flagship Galaxy S4 handset. Besides the date and time, Samsung also confirmed the internal hardware that will land in the US variant.
