Contact UsIn case you missed it, Google has released an archive of it’s 2013 Google I/O Keynote presentation on its Youtube channel. It’s all there in its full and magnificent 3 hours and 51 minutes of glory. If you haven’t seen it you can watch it right here. If you watched it yesterday, here’s your chance to relive the experience. Who could forget, the Google Play Games multiplayer demo fail, the John Hamm look alike in the Android hat, that Google Glass shower guy’s question getting shut down by a sad Larry Page? So many classic … Read more
While we didn’t see any substantial Android updates or a new Nexus phone at Google I/O yesterday, Android and Me was able to get its hands on the elusive white Nexus 4. Spec wise, the white Nexus 4 is the same as the black Nexus 4, and it will be available for purchase in the Google Play Store on June 10th. Rumors also suggest that the unit will come touting the new version of Android, Android 4.3. We may see Android 4.3 roll out to other Nexus devices upon the … Read more
While currently only Path and The New York Times have third-party apps out for Google Glass, many more are on the way. Today at Google I/O, several new apps were announced. Dubbed “Glassware”, these new apps will use the Google Mirror API to create experiences tailored to users of Google’s cyborg tech. Among the new apps announced are social networking giants Facebook and Twitter, short format blogging platform Tumblr, fashion magazine Elle, news network CNN, and note taking and archiving app Evernote. Google made the announcement in its “Developing for … Read more
Toronto Creative Agency Playground Inc. released a concept video this week that shows off their ideas of what the next iteration of Google Glass could look like. While a sophomore version of Glass is, at very least, a long way off, it’s fun to imagine the potential for the future of the wearable tech. There are definitely some great ideas in this video, most of which seem like they wouldn’t be too far-fetched for the current hardware if tethered to a phone. In fact, a lot of the features in this … Read more
The poor Nexus Q hasn’t been getting much love from Google lately, and may never get any going forward. We recently reported that it wouldn’t get any mention at Google I/O, and now it’s being denied the latest update to Google Play Music and its “All Access” music streaming services. Phandroid received confirmation from a Google liason named Paul that the Nexus Q would not be getting the upgrade: Thanks for taking the time to report this issue. As you noticed, the latest version of Google Play Music isn’t compatible with … Read more

Google announced that in the coming months Android will include native support for Bluetooth Smart Ready and Bluetooth Smart devices. Devices that come with a dual-mode Bluetooth chip will qualify as Bluetooth Smart Ready, allowing users to connect their phones to ultra power-efficient Bluetooth Smart accessories, like the FitBit Flex or the Pebble watch. Up until this point, handset makers had to develop their own Bluetooth stacks to make this possible, but now virtually all companies (not just the big players like Samsung, HTC and Motorola) making Android-based smartphones and … Read more
Few days ago I ranted about Ubuntu for Android, saying that I can’t wait to install it on my smartphone. Today I have a related idea to discuss with you. At the moment, Canonical doesn’t allow users to download Ubuntu for Android (or perhaps it’s still not ready for prime time), and the company is rather looking for OEMs to license the software. I believe that the “perfect vendor” to take advantage of this software is ASUS, which should offer it pre-installed on its Padfone series. This way Padfone users … Read more
Few days ago we’ve told you that Huawei Ascend P2 is coming to the UK, and now we have Phones 4U saying that it managed to score the exclusive launch rights for the white version of the device. The mobile specialist failed to mention the exact launch date and pricing, but we tend to believe interested users will be able to grab the Ascend P2 in white for free as long as they commit on a two-year contract with one of the major carriers, including Vodafone, Orange, T-Mobile, EE and … Read more
