Whoops! It looks like someone over at Verizon goofed by outing the upcoming Droid Incredible 4G a little earlier than expected on the “Droid Does” site. This might bring some validity to the handset being rumored to hit Verizon April 26. The specs on the new Incredible resemble those of HTC’s new high-end GSM phones, the One S. The new Droid phone sports a 1.2GHz dual-core CPU, a 4-inch qHD SuperLCD display, and it runs Android 4.0 Ice Cream Sandwich skinned with Sense 4. Here’s the full list of features … Read more
Verizon today announced its plans to sell off all of its 700 MHz A and B spectrum licenses to rationalize its spectrum holdings. This sale will go down if the government allows the largest wireless provider in the United States to buy AWS spectrum from a contingent of cable companies. The plan for Verizon is to expand its LTE 4G network (which currently lives on its 700 MHz upper C band) onto the AWS spectrum it’s trying to acquire. Big Red is hell-bent on grabbing as much spectrum as it … Read more

Sprint is moving closer toward releasing one of its first LTE handsets, the LG Viper 4G. We knew the LG Viper was hitting store shelves soon, once a document leaked last week. The company is slowly rolling out its LTE network, with the first test in Kankakee, Ill, so Sprint will begin to offer LTE devices more rapidly in the next few weeks. US Cellular is moving up in prestige with its announcement that it has begun selling its first 4G LTE smartphone, the Samsung Galaxy S Aviator. The carrier promised back in February that its first LTE phone would be released in April and has clearly stuck by its word. The Galaxy S Aviator is a mid-range handset running Android 2.3 Gingerbread. (No word on if it will get the Ice Cream Sandwich treatment, but I wouldn’t hold my breath.) It’s graced by a 4.3-inch Super AMOLED Plus display and a 1 … Read more

MetroPCS has put into effect a price hike on its top-tier data plan. A plan that once costed $60 per month to receive unlimited calling, texting, data including 4G LTE, email and either MetroStudio on-demand video or Rhapsody now costs $70 but it throws both the MetroStudio and Rhapsody music. Considering all you get, it’s still a pretty good value. In related news, MetroPCS has began throttling the cheaper 4G LTE plans. The $60 per month plan which includes all of the above minus MetroStudio on-demand video supports 4G LTE speeds … Read more
