Last month, a QWERTY slider from Samsung running Android 2.2 with TouchWiz 3.0 on top was spotted at IFA, and today it’s been announced to be available in Europe starting in November for 389 euros. The Samsung Galaxy I5510 is not quite as high end as the Epic 4G, as it packs a modest 667 MHz processor, 3.2″ 240 x 400 touchscreen, 3 megapixel camera, and 160 MB of internal memory, but as far as cheap phones with physical keyboards and up-to-date Android software go, it’s hard to argue with what the I5510 has to offer.Wi-Fi with DLNA support, FM tuning, and DivX playback are both nice touches for the media-hungry
It’s good to see that although Samsung is stubbornly pushing forward with Bada, they’re still heavily invested in Android, and interested in Windows Phone 7 . Though they aren’t putting all of their eggs in one basket, they have ditched Symbian, which is probably for the best.
We’re still digging around for the press release, but if you find any official product pages, feel free to leave a comment.
