If you’re over the age of 18, you can officially call yourself an adult. I’m 28 and even though I’m considered an adult, I like to adopt the term “kiddult.” I mean, with the amount of video games, toys, and electronics in my house, how can I consider myself anything but a big kid? Even though I have some child-like tendencies to my hobbies, one thing that I can no longer partake in are childhood games like Tag. That’s where Nike+ GPS’ update to their app catches my attention as they’re making it cool for adults to play Tag again.
Here’s how it works: Let’s say you go out for a nice, long run. If you have the Nike+ app keeping track of your run, you can have it prompt your friends to play Tag. As soon as your friends accept your game of Tag, the game will begin and one of the players will become “It.” Whoever is “It” will need to challenge the distance or time of whoever was previously “It.” The game continues until all of the players had their turn, and whoever performed the worst, all of the other players will have the honor of trash talking the player who performed poorly. If you need some help understanding it, you can check out the video Nike supplied to help explain the update.
The Nike+ GPS App update is available now and is free for users who purchased the app before, but for those of you who are interested in playing a nice game of Tag against your friends, the app is on sale for $1.99. Just remember that if you’re an adult, it’s only OK for you to play Tag as long as you have an app for that. Otherwise, touching random strangers might be perceived as creepy.
