Roughly a year after the original Casio G’zOne Ravine was announced, Verizon Wireless unveiled its successor, simply named G’zOne Ravine 2. Keeping it up with its roots, the new Ravine is also a tough, rugged device, made to meet military specifications for immersion, water, shock, dust, vibration, salt fog, humidity, solar radiation, altitude, and low and high temperatures. In addition, it also comes with two screens (internal and external), 3.2-megapixel camera with auto-focus and flash, 2.5mm headset jack, GPS, push-to-talk capability and a memory card slot. When it comes to pre-installed software, there are a number of apps for outdoor adventurers like Earth Compass, Walking Counter, Astro Calendar, Tide chart, Thermometer, Sunrise/Sunset chart and Star Gaze chart; as well as Verizon’s VZ Navigator GPS app/service.
The price, you ask? It’s $149.99 after rebate and with a new two-year contract. The Casio G’zOne Ravine 2 will be available tomorrow (November 17) online with Verizon stores scheduled to get it on November 23…
