CoPilot Live sat nav apps for iOS and Android get ActiveTraffic service as standard

Starting from this moment, CoPilot Live Premium for iOS and Android devices will include real-time traffic information as a standard feature. Previously this was an add-on feature that was available with 9.99 GBP annual subscription, and now it’s free for 1 year. If you’ve already purchased it, don’t worry – ALK Technologies (the maker of CoPilot apps) doesn’t want you to look like a sucker and will get you an additional 12 months on top of your current subscription.

As you’ve probably heard before, CoPilot Live’s ActiveTraffic service uses real-time traffic flow information to intelligently calculate the fastest route to destinations and provide a highly accurate ETA based on actual road conditions. While driving, the service automatically monitors the route ahead for delays and suggests a faster alternative way to go if available.

Love the idea and I guess other navigation app providers will soon follow ALK’s example and bundle similar services with their applications, as well. We’ll see…
