Google’s 16GB version of the Nexus 7 is back in stock

After waiting a couple of painstakingly long weeks, it seems like Google has finally caught up with demand for its 16GB edition of the Nexus 7 tablet. Google seems to be trying to get things moving faster with the rollout of its flagship slate, especially after releasing its first commercial of the device. Anyway, if you hit up the search giant’s Google Play store, you’d see that the wildly popular more data-friendly version of the slate is now “In Stock.”

It’s hard to tell whether the 16GB version is truly popular, or if Google just produced less of them because it underestimated how data hungry folks were when it came to storing local files. It seems like Google was probably following Amazon’s Kindle Fire strategy to the letter, as it quickly fell behind demand of the $249 16GB type. Betting that people would be more frugal, perhaps?

That said, the 8GB option could be the less popular choice, because it doesn’t give you exactly 8 gigs of onboard storage, as it only delivers around six and a half. Having that tiny bit of storage to operate with is almost impossible, if you’re the type who likes to locally store everything. Head over to the Play store to get your hands on that 16GB Nexus 7, now!
