O2 UK is among the first British carriers to commit to offer some of the sexy new smartphones announced at CES. In fact, it managed to score at least one exclusive device (for now) – Sony Xperia Z in purple. The operator’s website says that Sony’s high-end smartphone will start selling in February though we still wait for the exact release date.

But that’s not all – O2 will also offer the Huawei Ascend W1, which is the Chinese company’s first-ever Windows Phone device. As you probably know, this baby packs a 4-inch WVGA screen, Qualcomm Snapdragon S4 dual-core processor clocked at 1.2GHz, HSPA, Wi-Fi, GPS, 1950mAh battery, 5-megapixel camera and 4GB of built-in storage that is further expandable with microSD cards. The Ascend W1 will be available later this quarter when users will be able to choose between blue and ruby-pink models.
