With last year’s astounding sales of the Samsung Galaxy S III, it’s hard to imagine that those sales numbers could be bested. It looks as though Samsung’s Galaxy S4 is poised to do so, with U.K. retailer Phones 4U reporting that interest in the device is significantly higher than the Galaxy S III.
Within 48 hours of launching their pre-registration page, where customers can sign up for e-mail updates, Phones 4U saw a 40 percent increase in demand for the Galaxy S4 compared to the demand for last year’s Galaxy S III.
According to TechRadar, Scott Hooton, Chief Commercial Officer at Phones 4U stated that the Galaxy S4 could be “biggest selling smartphone of 2013,” and “The anticipation surrounding the next Samsung Galaxy has been astounding and it has already received the most pre-registrations as Phones 4U of any other smartphone launch in 2013.”
While pre-registration pages have gone live in the U.S. for carriers AT&T, T-Mobile and Sprint, there are no details yet about how many perspective Galaxy S4 owners have shown interest.
With last year’s Galaxy S III selling like hotcakes and consumer interest at an all time high for Samsung products (especially the Galaxy S4), it looks as though Samsung will be having a very good year.
