It looks like HTC is set to bring a variant of the recently announced First to the world. The device itself will not have Facebook Home pre-installed, but Sense 5.0, and will offer up the Ultrapixel camera.
This wouldn’t be the first time that we’ve come across the HTC M4 before, as the codename for the device popped up in February. Most of the specifications still fall in line with what we saw before, with the exception of the cameras (13MP vs Ultrapixel). That said, when we first caught a glimpse of the specs in February, HTC had yet to announce the One or its new Ultrapixel camera. Either way, the device should be able to hold its own in the mid-range device market.
• Snapdragon 400 MSM8930 1.2 Ghz Dual-Core
• Screen 4.3 inch 720p resolution
• Cameras: HTC UltraPixel/1.6M
• GPS/Glonass
• ROM 16GB
• RAM 1GB
• WiFi 802.11 a/b/g/n
• Bluetooth 4.0
• Android 4.2.2
• Sense 5.0
A device with the specifications above are hardly low-end, but it’s not going to blow anything out of the water. Luckily, the device will probably fall into the sub-$100 range when made available.
If you’re looking for a decent mid-range without Facebook Home pre-installed, the HTC M4 may be a good option for you. Of course, there’s still no word on pricing or availability, so you might be waiting a while.
